Monday 2/20/2012 Iran’s 90 percent Self-sufficiency in Oil Ahmad Ghalehbani, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) announced that currently Iran is up to 90 percent self-sufficient in satisfying demands of oil and gas development supply chain. And he hoped to reach full self-sufficiency within two years.
Ghalehbani noticing the progressive capabilities of domestic manufacturers believes independence to foreign companies to be cut in near future.
Considering capabilities of Iranian experts despite international sanctions, he stated that 10-percent-independence includes high-tech instruments which NIOC in accordance with research centers and manufacturers is trying to domesticate in less than two years.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Ghalehbani regarded the man power as the most valuable resource of each successful company and continued: “potentials of experts of NIOC as the most important resources of the company are currently enjoying satisfactory condition and are even getting improved.”
Furthermore, the MD of NIOC added that carrying out our widespread plans in acquiring knowledge in the oil and gas industry now we are at the edge of exporting technical and engineering services.
He also reminded that all projects in the oil industry, even toughest projects such as offshore tasks, are getting done by Iranian contractors and manufacturers.
